Weather you liked 50 Shades of Grey (and it’s sequel 50 Shades Darker) or not, there’s a good chance you’ve at least heard about it. This movie got so big so quickly, all because it’s marketed as very risque. There’s definitely some sort of a love story in there, but mostly, when talking about this movie, people concentrate on all the sexy bits. Now why would sex scenes be surprising in a movie? Cause apparently in 50 Shades of Grey movies they’re way more exciting cause it’s meant to have elements of BDSM. Is it a genuine and correct representation of the Dominant/Submissive relationships? Considering the amount of debate and outrage about it online, we’d say – probably not. The Dreamers is a beautiful and sort of twisted story of three teenagers in Paris, their love for films and the relationship they form between the three of them. It’s based on a novel called The Holy Innocents by Gilbert Adair, who, as it happens was also the one to write a screenplay for this movie. This romantic drama, directed by Bernardo Bertolucci, made a brilliant job of showing us a relationship like we’ve never seen before. It’ll make you question things, it’ll be uncomfortable to watch in some parts, but you’ll come away from this movie thinking it’s amazing.
2. Nymphomaniac
Nymphomaniac is a story of a self-diagnosed nympho girl named Joe, who tells the story of her sexual adventures in quite graphic details to a middle aged bachelor who found her beaten up on the street. The story stretched into 2 movies: Nymphomaniac Volume I and II. Each movie is also split up into parts, each part being about a different relationship and how it affected her.
3. On the Road
If you like Jack Kerouac’s novel On The Road, you probably already know the plot of this movie. But that shouldn’t stop you from seeing it. It’s a story of bohemian youth, thirst for freedom and adventures, two men who form an instant bond when meeting and a very seductive and liberated lady.
